Meet Markelia

The trusted design partner I wish I had during my own custom home journey.

After building both a semi-custom and fully custom home, I discovered something many homeowners learn along the way — creating a beautiful home is about so much more than choosing beautiful finishes.

Behind every completed home are hundreds of decisions, from floor plans and functionality to cabinetry, lighting, tile, countertops, fixtures, and the countless details that determine how a home truly lives.

While building my own custom home, I loved the creative process and carefully considered every selection. But I also realized how valuable it would have been to have someone walking beside me — someone focused solely on my vision, my lifestyle, and helping me confidently navigate each decision.

That realization inspired Meraki Home Design.

Where Experience Meets Design

Before founding Meraki, I spent more than 25 years as a Human Resources, Ethics, and Risk professional — a career built around listening, asking thoughtful questions, understanding people, solving complex challenges, and guiding others through important decisions.

Today, I bring those same skills into the home-building experience.

My role is not simply to help you select beautiful finishes — it is to understand how you live, anticipate details you may not know to consider, and help ensure every decision contributes to a home that feels intentional, functional, and uniquely yours.
