MARKELIA WEAVER

Markelia Weaver has always believed that building a home should feel as beautiful as the lifestyle it’s meant to hold. After building a semi-custom and then a fully custom home, she experienced firsthand how overwhelming and fragmented the process can be. Although she kept up on the latest HGTV shows, followed trends on Pinterest and even engaged on Instagram, at the end of her build and loving her finished product, she may have made different decisions throughout her process, saved money, and increased her home’s value before moving in.  She realized she didn’t know it all and could have benefited from someone with experience to journey with her, offer guidance and credibly challenge her thought pattern. decisions.

Markelia graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development and has been a people professional ever since. Blending her natural eye for design with over 25 years as a human resources and ethics leader, Markelia brings a unique combination of elegance, strategy, and client advocacy to every project. Her background in communication, mediation, and risk navigation gives her an exceptional ability to guide clients through complex decisions with clarity and confidence.

Known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to create spaces that feel both refined and deeply personal, Markelia founded Meraki Home Design to reimagine how luxury homes are brought to life. She collaborates closely with clients, builders, and design teams to ensure every selection aligns seamlessly with the homeowner’s vision—transforming a complicated process into a curated, inspiring experience.

For Markelia, it’s not just about beautiful spaces—it’s about authentic design, intentional living, and creating legacies that last. She believes in blending edgy with luxury that’s livable and lovable, sparking conversation and evoking emotion. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young adult daughters, taking walks with her Labradoodle, Reese, and serving the community as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®
